A little friendly competition...

By Rylan Newman

On Thursday evening, students from four high schools battled it out in a war of skill, intelligence, and fortitude. If you have ever entertained the thought that females are lesser, THINK AGAIN.

On a blazing hot Florida afternoon, these athletes worked hard to outperform their peers while I sweat ten pounds of water weight. The athletes, while technically competing, didn’t seem to only have competition on their minds. While in-between holes the students could be seen having friendly competition, congratulating their peers on making good shots, and even giving some friendly advice at times. This is just one of the things that makes high school sports different from college and pro sports, and one for the better.
