Rainy night, tough night for Patriots

On a rainy night in September, the Pace Patriots coming off a big win versus Choctawhatchee, took on the undefeated Navarre Raiders in a highly explosive offensive battle. Bivins was expecting to have a huge night, but that wasn’t quite the case.

The Patriots would come out hot as Caleb Buckner's big 28-yard catch would set them for a early first drive field goal. The Raiders would answer with a 58-yard, 8-play drive that ended with a Chris Williams 11-yard rushing touchdown, to give them a early 7-3 lead.

My oh my though, Caleb Vincent would take the following Raider kickoff 75 yards for the Patriots to set them up at the 5-yard line. Two plays later, Damean Bivins busts his way to a 5-yard touchdown to give back the Patriots the lead. This high offensive battle was just getting started as the Raiders would answer with a 37-yard touchdown themselves.

It was an all offensive game early, but Pace safety J.C. Peacher would come up with a huge 17-yard pick six, to put them back on top. But just as you thought things were slowing down Navarre would answer with a 54-yard rushing touchdown from Dante Wright. The score at half was 21-17 Raiders.

Second half is when the patriots defense would let things get out of hand as the Raiders would start off with a 53-yard touchdown and then follow with a big 33-yard rushing touchdown to put them up 35-17. Although the Patriots would eventually find some offense, it wouldn’t be enough for Navarre’s high powered offensive to send them home still undefeated (6-0-0) with a final score of 49-30.

Although this a tough loss for the Patriots they get a bye week next week and will try to rebound the following week versus Gulf Breeze in a battle of two high power backs in Damean Bivins and Tyler Dittmer and see if they can make a late playoff push to top off their season.
