Patriots Lose in Bivins' Slow Night.
Friday night, the Pace Patriots took on the Pine Forest Eagles. Although the Patriots had a struggle some night with Bivins getting held under 100 yards, there’s much to rebound and move forward for the future.
The game started out very competitive after Bivins bit off many short yardage plays to eventually lead to a 3-yard touchdown. Pine Forest would then follow up with a 1 play, 75-yard rushing touchdown from Anwar Lewis. Multiple 3-and-outs from the Pace offense created fatigue from the defense after they were on the field for most of the second quarter. Later in second quarter, Pine Forest would top a big drive with a 1-yd touchdown and end the half with a 70-yard passing touchdown from Ladarius Clardy to Vontarius Hill to leave the score at half 20-7.
Second half, Pace would come out hot with a huge 55- yard kick return from J.C. Peacher to only end with a interception two plays later. Pine Forest would take that drive with a big 33-yard run by Lewis and turn into 2-yard Lewis rushing touchdown.
Although the Eagles would come out on top 40-7 and Bivins would finish the night under a 100 yards, Pace has a lot to look forward to in the future behind star running back Damean Bivins, as he should rebound and have big game next week vs Booker T. Washington.
